Tubing and the Falls

Hey There folks who are probably wearing or have worn shorts in the past week!

It is snowing here and the temperature is dropping rapidly. It's supposed to be colder than we've experienced so far. Hopefully we will be heading home this week, but possibly we could be going anywhere. Things are winding down for Jon and we are going stir crazy in this trailer so we took a couple of field trips. First is called the Polar Wave. This was soooooo, much fun! You get on an inner tube and slide down this hill. This place had a lift that pulled you up to the top, taking all the work out of it.

Charis and Eythan going down together.

Going up the lift. Most people could just put their feet down and stand up. Not me....too short. I had to roll out like the kids. The only problem is, I'm not a kid, and my knees and butt were so sore the next day I was regretting the whole thing!

Jon takes a picture as they all go down together.

It was pretty cold and we had to take Caedon in a couple of times to warm up. We wanted to go one more time when he started shivering again. We decided he could make it one more time and took him up. He started crying and whining, and did so until we took him back in. I stayed out with the other two kids for a couple more rides. When I got back inside Caedon was still crying. Jon thought he probably hurt his hand or was frost bitten, but when I sat down, Caedon held his hand up for me, I kissed it and he stopped crying, the world was fine. He just needed a mommy kiss, they make everything better.

Today we went to Niagara Falls. This was the most amazing sight! The kids really enjoyed it too.

Canada is on the other side of the river. You can tell America went the traditional "state park" route with their side. Canada went Vegas on theirs!

Emily = Kenny from south park....give me a break....it was freakin' cold!

The closer you got the stronger the wind was. It was keeping the kids from falling backwards it was so powerful!

Moose tracks?

We got attacked by squirrels when we tried to get back in our truck! On the way home the weather hit. This is what it was like driving home.

Well, we've had a great run and we're ready to come home. If you're praying for us, please pray that we can minister to people here. It's very hard. You try to be kind and considerate to people but they really don't pay any attention. Everyone seems so isolated, even in a crowd. It's like the land of introverts! But in a bad way. Like a the Polar Wave. It was my goal the entire afternoon to make the guy handing out tires to feel valued and appreciated. I said thank you to him so many times and he never acknowledged that I was even speaking to him. Finally, after the 100th time, he looked at me and mumbled, your welcome. It seemed more out of spite than anything though. Pray that we will have opportunities to serve Him. This land is so "dry" and we would love to be able to bring a down pour! We love you all and hope to you Texans soon!

P.s. We're going to come home through OKC so we'll see you all sooner! Get it! Sooner....we'll the okies got it!
